在本节课上,具体实施分为4步骤:

1)学习英语的目的与重要性:学生在问答环节中,意识到语言学习的意义,从而引发内在动力。

2)学习英语的不同途径:在图片展示和调查表环节,学生增加了认知,领悟出科学的学习方法。

3)名人谈及对于学习英语的经验和建议:学生通过榜样的力量提高信心获取学习的建议。

4)学习中有可能碰到的问题及解决方案:通过小组交流活动,培养合作意识,调动群众的力量一起来答疑解惑。

 

四.       教学过程:

Step 1: Lead In --- The importance of English learning

1. A picture (屏幕上一张弟弟拿着50分的英语试卷的皱眉照片)

2. Question raised by brother: “Why do I have to learn English?”

3. 通过学生的回答,突出学习英语的重要性及意义------communicational tool.

(意识到此门学科的特殊性,语言学习涉及听说读写方面,为下一步骤作铺垫)

Step 2: Picture Discussion and a Survey --- The different ways to learn English

1.       A question raised by brother

2.       Showing pictures of different ways of English learning

3.       A survey between students: how to learn English better.

Teacher giving away a Questionnaire on English Learning

1.      Do you sometimes watch English movies?

2.      Do you attend any spare time schools or go to some private tutors to study English?

3.      Have you ever been to an English Corner or met a native speaker of English?

4.      Do you learn by heart each text you learn at school?

5.      Do you listen to English radio broadcast or watch English TV programmes regularly?

6.      Do you write to someone or e-mail someone in English?

7.      Do you read English newspapers or magazines? Name one or two of them?

8.      How do you like your English course as compared with other subjects?

9.      How much time do you usually spend every day studying English?

10.  Which skill do you think is the most difficult, listening, speaking, reading, or writing?

Step 3: listening --- The Tips on English Learning

1.       Review what we’ve learned in the additional reading: Practice, Practice, Practice …

2.       Listening Task 1: 成功人士谈英语学习     (Finish T&F questions)

3.       Listening Task 2: Tips on English learning    (Fill in the blanks)

(从听力中获取新的信息和句型词汇,为下一步组织语言形成自己的观点打下铺垫的环节。)

Step 4: Group Work --- The solution to some problems in English learning

1. (Divide the class into 4 groups) Four problems raised by brother:

A: How do I memorize new words?

B: How do I improve my reading?

C: How do I improve my translation?

D: How do I improve my listening and speaking?

2.       Discussion and Group Report (Do the report according to the useful language given by the teacher)

(整堂课的高潮,互相合作探究,寻找适合自己的学习方法)

Step 5: Conclusion:

1.       Excellent personality is one of the decisive factors in English study. Persistence, patience, self-confidence and determination are badly needed.

2.       A picture (屏幕上出现弟弟捧着英语书自信的笑脸,感谢大家的帮助和建议)

(师生互动,深化主题,渗透情感目标)

Step 6: Homework:

1.       Conclude the methods and skills about English learning in class and make a study plan for English learning for my brother according to his problems.

2.       Further thinking:

How do we learn English grammar?

How can we make use of the English dictionary effectively?
