英语作文 关于中国干旱地震灾难有感
I think the drought is far worse than the earthquakes! Sure, earthquakes kill people but at least the killing is instant and the rebuilding process after the quakes, in some cases, may just be the much-needed injection of new life, Haiti as being a good example I think and I don’t think I am alone.
Having said that, the difference in the mentality or the attitude between these two nations in dealing with the aftermath seems to be far apart. It seems that in Haiti, there are so much waiting around and blaming for the “late” arrival of the international rescue effort, as if it was some kind of entitlement to them, whereas the Chinese start getting on their knees and start digging themselves out immediately, with their own bare hands.
I see a China spirit in all of this and I don’t believe my view is a racially distorted one simply because I too am a Chinaman. It’s not a race issue, rather a human issue.
Unlike the earthquakes, the shortage of water may not be, or cannot be a quick-fix issue. The possible cause of the drought may not be a temporary lack of rainfall, but a potential permanent change of the earth environment that it is real and happening now. I sure hope I am wrong and even if I am, just how long or how much rainfall it’s going to take for the lakes to be filled back up with water and the rivers to start flowing again?
Yeah, I heard the Chinese government saying that they are preparing for the worst. But I afraid to say that they are really nerves now to even think about what the worst may be! Because they know there isn’t that much they can do! No money can buy the water that does not exist, and no amount of government official visits can bring the rain!
What can I say, China is on my mind?
