Lesson 46. Your Future and English(说课稿)

Part 1. Analysis of the teaching materials.

1.      The status and function of the teaching materials.

This lesson tells the students about what jobs need English ,such as translator,diplomat, business person, computer programmer, hotel worker, and so on. . It’s helpful for the students to know how important to learn English, if they learn English well, they will find a better job in the future, and it is helpful to raise the students’ learning intersts. It’s very important for the students to learn this lesson.

2.      (1) The importance of this lesson:

The students will master the usages of some words , phrases, such as, represent, translator, business people , around the world, translate…into… , be interested in… , on the Internet, etc.

(2)The difficulties of this lesson : How to let the students express their opinions about the lesson.

3.Teaching aims and demands

  A.  Knowledge objectives : The students will learn new words, phrases, sentence patterns and grammar to widen their accumulation of the language..

  B.  Ability objectives.

1 ) The students’ abilities of listening and speaking will be trained.

    2) The students can improve their communicate ability

  C.  Emotion objectives.

After learning this lesson,I hope my students will be interested in communicating in English and can be able to cooperate with other students, help each other and complete the tasks.

 

Part 2. Analysis of the teaching method.

1. Analysis of the students .

       Students are the most important part in the class, so we must make our teaching atmosphere relaxing and happy to make the students as hosts in the class . My students are all from country and they are young beginners in English learning, their English is still poor , but they are active. So I must conduct them and try to improve their abilities of listening , speaking , reading and writing .

2. The teaching method

In this lesson, I’ll mainly use “Communicative” teaching method, “Audio- visual” teaching method, “Task-based” teaching method and “listening and saying” teaching method. Because as we all know, the main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School is to cultivate students’ abilities of listening、speaking、reading、writing and their good sense of the English language

3. Teaching aids:

    Blackboard , tape , recorder , multi-media computer

 

Part 3  Learning strategies

A.     The students should have a full preparation before the class, find out the knotty problems of learning. At the same time they should help each other, learn from each other in groups and cooperate study.

B.      Lead the students to take part in all the activities to communicate、express and think in English

C.      Master some useful words and expressions. 

 

Part 4  Teaching  procedures

 

Activity1  Warming up    

First, I will greet the class as usual,and let the students sing the song 《say the word》of Lesson44, I think singing a wonderful song can heat the classroom's atmosphere . Then ask the students to give a duty report.( After doing this for a short period , the spoken English of my students is obviously improved .)

Activity2  Free talk (Task1)

 In small groups, the students can talk about why they learn English . Then I will let some volunteers share their opinions with the whole class. Maybe,they will give me many different opinions: we must have tests. People all over the world are learning English. Learning English is fun. …  ( I hope my students can communicate with each other, they can practice speaking and listening in this activity .)

Activity3  Lead    in

1.)    Before the students read the text, brainstorm the meaning of some of the key concepts in the reading. Sometimes, Liyang’s teaching method is useful. I will make my students read the key points after the tape very loudly and ask them what they think each word means. (In this activity, I hope my students can overcome their fears about speaking English.)

2.)    Ask the class what jobs require English. According to the text, jobs that involve the use of English include : business person , diplomat, hotel worker, jounalist, scientist, translator… (, In order to raise the students’ interests, in this activity,I will show them some pictures)

Activity4. Listening 

      Play the audiotape,Ask the students to close the books,and listen carefully with some simple questions . I’ll play the audiotape twice.

1.)    Are there many companies that need translators?

2.)    Who represents his or her country ?
