Teaching Objectives:

After this Lesson, students are able to

1. talk about animal attributes as well as sb’s personality and character

2. improve their abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing

3. enhance their love for Chinese culture and become a useful person

 

Teaching Point & Difficulty: Talking about personality and character

 

Teaching Aids: A recorder, Multi-media equipment

 

Teaching Procedure:

 

 

 

Warming-up and lead-in:

Enjoy a flash song about animals

 

Aim:

to arouse the students with the interest in learning English  

 

Pre-task:

1. Guess riddles about twelve animals

2.      Have a competition

3. A check-up on the words and expressions self- learning

Aim:

1. to help the students step into the text by guessing riddles and having a competition

2. to check the words the students have previewed

 

While-task: practice on the text

1.  Listen and answer the questions

2.       Act out the text

3.  Complete an e-mail

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Aims:

1. to help the students understand the main ideas of the text

2. to improve the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing

 

Post task:

1. work in pairs: make up dialogues  according to the model

2. Have a discussion in groups: It is said“ A man’s own character shape his fortune”. As a middle school student, what character is the most important for you?

 

 

Aims:

1.              to encourage the students to communicate with each other

2.              to develop the students' ability of  co-operation

 

 

Conclusion

 

 

 

Assignment:

1. Read and recite the text

2. Conduct a survey among your friends and family members and write six to eight sentences about what animal he or she is.

Aims:

to have the students know more information about animal attributes as well as sb’s personality and character by investigating

 

 

教学反思:

在本课的预先设计中,尤其是课件设计上,采用从资源网上下载一些学生感兴趣的课件,引发学生的学习兴趣,调动了学生的英语学习积极性。同时,能完成既定教学任务,起到锻炼学生语言综合能力的目标,尤其是口语。课堂上,体现二期课改以学生为主体的目的。

当然,在今后合理适当的调动好学生的活跃气氛上,还应继续努力。同时,任务的布置上要注重层层推进。

 

 

说课稿

一、说教学内容:

《新世纪英语》八年级第一学期第三单元第二课What Animal Are you?的第一课时,通过两个学生的对话,来讨论十二属相及相关人物的个性特征

二、说教学目标:

通过本节课的学习,要求学生熟练掌握相关的词汇与句型;对十二属相有初步的了解;并能学会谈论各属相相关人物的性格特征;激发学生热爱祖国悠久的历史文化,学做一个对社会有用之人。
