School Festival 说课稿

Good morning, everyone. The content of the teaching material I talk about is School Festival. It comes from Unit 7, 6A, Primary English of oxford. This is the second lesson. The students have learned some festivals before. For example: Children’s Day, Teachers’ Day, Halloween. It’s good for them to learn the relative knowledge further.

The National Standard of Curriculum States that: English lesson is the procedure that the English learners acquire the language knowledge and the skills through the English learning and activities. So they can improve their ability to communicate in real situations. English lesson is also the procedure that English learners develop their ability to think and their characters.

The content of this lesson is close to the real life of the students. Considering the National Standard of Curriculum, the content of the lesson and the levels of the students I design the following teaching aims.

Teaching aims

1.       Aims on the knowledge: To enable the Ss to understand, say, read, and write: “We had…at our school. When was it? It was on … What did you do? We …” Make sure that Ss can use these sentences in real situations.

2.       Aims on the abilities: To develop Ss’ abilities of listening and speaking. To train the Ss’ abilities of working in groups.

3.       Aims on the emotion: To develop Ss’ interest in English.

Important point:

1.       To help the Ss ask and answer the questions: “We had…at our school. When was it? It was on … What did you do? We …”To enable the Ss to study in groups.

2.       To develop the Ss’ interest in English.

Difficult point

To help the Ss ask and answer the questions “We had…at our school. When was it? It was on … What did you do? We …” And make sure they can use these sentences in real situations.

 

Now I’ll talk about the teaching method of this lesson.

Teaching Methods

As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations, finish a task by making a survey to help the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structure of the dialogue.

Teaching aids

And in this lesson a recorder, CAI, some boxes of papers and a blank will be needed.

 

Teaching procedures

I’ll finish this lesson in five steps.

Step 1 Warm-up

I’ll divide this step into two activities.

Activity1. Listen to a song.

Goal: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by sing a song.

Activity2.  Free talk between T and Ss.

Q1: What day is/was it today/yesterday?

Q2: What is /was the date today/yesterday?

Q3: When’s Children’s Day/Teachers’ Day?

Q4: What did you do last…?

Goal: To lead up to the topic, get Ss to warm up and arouse their interest in the topic and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge for the next step.

Step 2 Presentation

Now I’ll mainly talk about this step. I’ll divide this step into three steps.

Activity1: Use CAI to present the pattern. “We had…at our school. When was it? It was on … What did you do? We … ” Talk about some festivals with students. Teacher writes the key words and phrases into the blank of the blackboard.
