Unit 3 Make a plan

Fun with English

Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen! My name is Wang Qian. I’m from Wenhua Road Primary School, Doingling District. It’s my great pleasure to be here sharing my teaching ideas with you. I’m going to talk about Unit 3 Book 9 Make a Plan Fun with English.

 

Analysis of English Curriculum Standard

    The purpose of English Curriculum for primary school students is to stimulate the interests in learning English and try to keep their interests. Train the active attitude in learning English and form good learning habit. Train them to form certain language sense and set good foundation of pronunciation, intonation and writing. Grasp basic English in communication and help them to form simple ability for daily communication. Cultivate their abilities of observation, memorization, imagination and creation. At the same time, introduce Chinese and Western culture, make them love our country and set the foundation for learning English in middle school.

According to the general and grade purpose of this subject, I make the following unit aims and lesson aims.

Unit teaching aims

1. Knowledge aims

a.      To enable the students to grasp the words, that is to say can listen, say, read, and use them freely: village, list, celebrate, decorate, need, paper, under, believe, useful, envy, never, finish, work, cartoon, sticker, trouble, law, station and phrases: sports things, have a rest, notice board.

b.     To enable the Ss to read, say and write the sentences: What shall we do for them? I think we can buy something for study. Christmas is coming. How are we going to celebrate it? What’s your plan for…? First,… Second,… Third,… Finally,… Do you have any ideas to stop it? And can use them to talk.

c.     Understand the short dialogue in Read and think, can retell it, grasp the song or chant.

2.     Ability aims

a.       Can use the ‘four skill’ sentences to express one’s own plan.

b.      Can reuse the dialogue to express plan and discuss it.

c.       Can use the knowledge to do survey and interviews.

d.      Learn to sing the song Christmas Is Coming and Fish Song , say the chant and tell some stories about Christmas.

3.     Emotion and culture aims

a.      To foster the Ss to take care of others and help others.

b.     Have acquaintance with the difference between Christmas and the Spring Festival.

 

Now I’ll take Period 1 Lesson 13 as an example to talk in detail.
