采用多媒体教学培养英语人才

(1) We can see huge campus and low-rise buildings in this picture. It is the biggest difference from schools in China .Most school buildings in China are taller, at least three stories.

(2) There are rows of lockers by the classrooms for students to put things in. Most schools in China do not have the equipment in the classroom.

(3) There are fewer students in a class, no more than 30 per class. And in most schools in China, there are usually more students in high school, perhaps 40 to 50 per class.

(4) Students have a close relationship with their teachers in both the UK and China.

让学生及时得到反馈、自我检查。At last, ask the students to write an essay about the differences between the two schools. 这样，在课堂45分钟内学生得到了大量的语言信息输入和综合语言能力训练，有利于培养能用英语进行交际的人才。

(d) 更好地培养跨文化意识

多媒体技术为培养学生的跨文化意识，形成跨文化交际能力提供了条件。凭借计算机技术，尤其是教育软件、校园网等，教学打破了时间、空间的限制，教师可以根据需要随时随地提供给学生有价值的英语信息。比如说，可以组织学生上网看有关英语国家的历史、地理、风土人情、传统习俗、生活方式、文学艺术和价值观等的文章或影片，例如：《牛津高中英语》第一册第一单元“School Life”的板块二“Reading”,这部分教材是有关School Life in the UK的,在教学中，教师除了让学生了解课文中所描述的情况外，还可以组织学生通过上网的方式了解有关英国学校生活的更多的情况，从而为他们提供更详细的跨国文化，增强他们对两种文化的比较能力，以便提高文化素养，使学生能得体地用英语进行交际。这一优点与新《课标》的要求也是相一致的。新《课标》把文化作为教学内容和目标正是抓住了外语教育的人文性。它强调英语学习要了解英语国家的文化和社会行为规范，以便得体运用英语进行交际。所以说，利用多媒体进行新《课标》的教学，有利于培养能用英语进行交际的人才。

（C）结论

总之，要培养学生用英语进行交际的能力，首先，要使英语课成为通过语言实践活动掌握用英语进行交际的能力的技能课。英语专家C.E.Eckersley在论述英语教学时说：“The teaching of English differs from the teaching of many of the other subjects in the school curriculum…. The people who only learn(or teach)about English make the mistake of regarding‘English’as a‘subject’(like geography or physics), which it is not, instead of as a‘skill’or an‘activity’like swimming or tennis, which it is. You learn to swim by getting into the water and swimming; you learn football by going and kicking a ball. And you learn to speak English by speaking it and not by being told about it.” Eckersley 用学游泳、学踢球的实例简明地阐述了一个道理，即学习英语就是学习一种技能，技能必须通过大量的实践才能获得。从某种意义上说，用英语进行交际的能力不是“教”会的，而是“练”会的。利用多媒体教学手段进行教学能为学生提供大量的用英语进行交际的实践机会，新《课标》的教学宗旨也是以“学生为主体”，强调让学生通过运用英语进行交际从而掌握英语。所以说，在新《课标》实施中采用多媒体，有利于能得体用英语进行交际的英语人才的培养。
