1.      A brief introduction of ads and give some examples  

We have two basic types of advertisements. One is A commercial  advertisement (CAs商业广告), and the other is Public service advertisement  (PSAs公益服务广告) . Read and enjoy the following advertisements and decide which are PSAs and which are CAs.

Step 1 Greetings and Lead-in   

 Write the following words on the blackboard and ask ss to analyze the part of speech of each word

Step 2  using suffixes  

1.               Have ss read the dialogue on page 6.ask them to find the entire adjective in the dialogue and identify the ones which are created by adding suffixes. have ss look at the suffixes and think about hoe these words are formed  

2.               Ask to read the table and tip boxes on page 6, which show them the different ways to form adjectives by adding suffixes.  

3.               Ask ss to read the ad and do the exercise individually .they need to dorm adjectives by adding the correct suffixes. Encourage ss to consult each other and dictionaries whenever they meet with mew words before asking you. Check the answers as a class and make sure that ss have no problems using the suffixes learnt in this section.  

4.               Introduce other common adjective-forming suffixes to ss and ask them to think of more examples. Tell them each suffix usually has a fixed meaning. The following table provides some examples of common suffixes. Ask ss to point out the meaning of each suffix. They may suggest more examples.

1.       Ask ss to go over Part A on page 14 and make sure that they know what to do. Here, ss will ask questions and collect answers about good advertisements. They should think pf one other relevant question to complete the interview. you may suggest one do them as follows:  

   What advertisement(s) do you like least? Why?  

2.       Ask ss to go over Part B on the page 15. have them work in pairs to role-play an interview between a marketing assistant and his/her friend. ss can begin the conversation like this:
