Period 7 Word power

Aims : get the students to learn parts of speech and learn the words used to describe the weather.

Step 1. Revision

Step 2. Parts of speech

1.       Ask the students to read the speech bubbles on Page 6.Make sure they pay attention to the word rest and get them to describe the different meanings of it in different parts of speech.

2.       Get the students to read the instructions for Part A.

3.       Complete Part B according to the instructions.

4.       Read the short report.

5.       Encourage the students to give some more examples.

Step 3. Describing the weather.

1.       Review the words used to describe the different kinds of weather.

2.       Practise reading the dialogue in Part A.

1.)    Have students look up the new words in the dictionary

2.)    Get them to look at the symbols in Part B for reference.
