浅谈如何培养学生的阅读理解能力

Questions:
     1)What's the population of China?
     2)What's the population of the world?
     3)Have you ever heard of "population problem"?Say something about what you know.
    （二）深层理解
     深层理解的问题具有创造性。它要求学生利用作者所传递的信息、凭借自己的社会背景知识、生活经验进一步理解和吸收读物中没有明确表述的、却又与主题有联系的思想与信息，即“弦外之音”。这是一种合乎逻 辑的、超越读物文字符号所传递的信息而进行的思维推理活动。教师在学生对文章表层理解的基础上，可进一步提问：
       1)What does "standing room only "mean?

 2)By what year will the world's population reach 6 billion?

3)What is the author's attitude towards the population problem?

4)How does the author show the seriousness of the problem?

5)Why does the author write the artical?

教师通过提问引导学生思考的同时，应启发帮助他们在文中找到有利于回答问题的线索（比如语篇标志、主题句等）。本课作者就是通过大量详尽的数字来表现人口的快速增长。作者使用者如"A UN report says…" 来增加文章的可信度与权威性，从而警告世人注意人口增长问题的严重性与解决人口问题的紧迫感。

（三）评价性理解

阅读的目的是吸收信息或利用获取的信息分析解决问题，并对文章作价值判断，提高深层次理解和评价文章的能力，同时也获得运用英语进行交际的能力。本课评价性问题可设计为：

1)What is your opinion towards the population problem?
    2)What do you think we should do to solve the problem?
    3)Suppose you were a demogrepher,give a speech on "population explosion".

学生在回答问题过程中要思考问题，洞察问题实质，思考人口急剧膨胀会对社会产生什么影响？对我们的生活构成怎样的威胁？应采取什么手段来解决？并用英语自由发表自己的意见。为了帮助学生顺利评价课文内 容，教师要注意三个问题：
