一、Teaching  aims:

(1) The students will  be  able to  learn  new  words:

①the names of some cooking utensils : stove , refrigerator , sink , dish ,knife ,

②Some  verbs  abort  cooking  : cook , wash

③Some   nouns  about  food : toast , jam , juice

④other  words: pass ,  inside , mine

(2) The students will  be  able to  learn to ask   and   answer  about  one's  breakfast  with:

What    would  you  /  she  / he  like   for  breakfast?

(3)Learn  to  talk   about  others'  meals .

Step I   Class  opening

1. Greeting .

2. Think  about   it :

①What  time  do  you   have  breakfast ?

②What  do  you   like  to  eat   for  breakfast ?

③What  do  the  Smiths  and  Li  Ming like  to eat  for  breakfast ?Let, s  go to  Lesson  34  Making  Breakfast

Step II  Revision

1. Look  at  the  pictures . Talk  about   them :

T: Who's  this?

S: He  is  Li  Ming.

T: Where  is   he   now?

S: He's  at   Jenny's  home/ house .

T: Would  you  like  to  look  at  Jenny's  house  with  me?

S: Yes .

T: Please  look  at  the  picture  .

  What's  this?

S: It's   a  living  room.  /  bedroom / . kitchen.

Step III  Presentation:

1. T: What  can   you   see    in  the  kitchen ?

  S: I can  see  a  stove  /  refrigerator   / sink  /  dish

  T: Now   it's   7:00  in   the  morning .

    What   are  the  Smiths  and  Li   Ming  doing   in   the  kitchen ? And  what   do  the   Smiths   and  Li  Ming   like  for   breakfast ? Please  listen  to  the  tape  carefully  and   answer   the  questions:

①What   would   Li  Ming   like  for  breakfast ?

② What  would   Jenny  like  for   breakfast?

③How  about   Jenny's  dad ?

2. Explanation  of  the  hard  points :

 Step  IV.  Practice:

1.Read   the   dialogue  in groups.

2. Get   some  students   to  act  out   the  dialogue .

Step V . Practise

Make  a   survey  and  fill   in   the   table,  then   make  a   dialogue   with   your   partner .  Use the structures:  What  would you/your father/mother/friends  like for breakfast/lunch/supper?             

Step  VI. Summary

   Today   we've  learnt  the  structures  that    we  need  to  express  what   we  have   for  the  meals   .  We've   also  learnt  some  new  words.

Step VII. Homework:

   Work  with  a   partner   . You  have  a   visitor  from  Canada   staying   at  your  house  .  show  your  visitor  around  your  house  . Write  and  practice  a dialogue  and  then   present  it  to  your  classmates.
