教学重点: 掌握描述大本钟的词汇及句型

Ⅰ.Warming Up
1、Greetings
T: Boys and girls, It’s time for our English class.Now stand up, please. Morning, everyone!
S: Morning, Ms Wong!
T: Nice to meet you today!OK!Please sit down.
2、Free talk and lead to the new
T: -There are many beautiful places in the world.
-OK! Now we’re going to see some beautiful places.
★-Would u like to see? Let’s go!
Ⅱ.Presentation
T: Now look at the screen. Let’s guess what place it is and where it is.(PLAY CAI)
S: -It’s in China. It’s Chinese Great Wall.
-It’s in Japan. This is Mount Fuji. The plum flowers are very pretty
-It’s in the USA. It’s Statue of Liberty.
T: It’s in Jane’s hometown —England. Now you give it a name. What names do u want to give to it?
S: Big clock. Big bell .Tall bell…
T: It’s a good idea. But it has its history, so it has a name –Big Ben.
Big Ben is its name. Do u want to know more history about it?
-This bell is made By Hall Ben in the year 1859.-Where is it?-It’s hung in the clock tower of the parliament.It was first broadcast by BBC in 1923.It’s so heavy, so there is another joke.
给大家讲个典故,听大笨钟的名字来历很特别,原来的一个王子修了一口大钟,可是没有人能把这口钟放在他的钟楼上。后来,一位名叫“笨”的大力士把这口钟放在了钟楼上,于是这口钟便叫“大笨钟”了。Please remember it.

Ⅲ.Drill and practice
1.Let them draw one face of the Big Ben on their exercise book. Mark the minute hand and the Roman Numerals. Then mark these figures on them.
2.Ask some Ss to describe the Big Ben.
教学反思:
本课是学习关于英语文化的内容,让学生了解英国标志性建筑----大本钟,我从它的历史引入,先让学生对此产生浓厚兴趣,再进入重点知识学习。接着通过课件展示让学生直观观察大本钟,学习词汇及句型,从它的位置到它的面再到整体,引导他们运用词汇和句型有条理地描述它。本课要补充介绍钟面上的罗马数字知识,让学生感受在记数上的文化差异。
在整个教学活动中采取以教师讲解为主,结合学生听、说、读、写相结合的方式。全课结构紧密,时间分配合理,知识趣味性强,能较好地激发学生的学习兴趣和动机。
不足需改进的是:整课容量较大,学生操练不够,难点突破不够。
