Unit 5 I’m watching TV.  (Teaching Plan Interpretation)

 

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

My name is LiYun from Xi’an San Mian Middle School. I am pleased to have the opportunity to join this competition. Today, my topic is I'm watching TV.
   Now I will introduce my teaching materials from the status and roles; teaching aims; teaching importances and difficulties; teaching design; Learning methods.

I. Status and Roles

This lesson is the first class of new material in Unit 5, students will learn what people are doing. the content is closely related to daily life. It is easy to lead students to use English for simple communication. In the procedure, students can improve the friendship between the teachers and  the students.

II. Teaching Aims: 

1.Knowledge of the Objectives:

--What are you doing? --I am watching.

-- What is he doing? --He is doing his homework.

--Is she reading? --No, she isn’t.  

2. The Abilities of Objectives:

(1) To learn the use of communication.

(2) Can write the actions with the Present Continue Tence.  

3. Emotional Objectives:

(1)Enable students to cooperate among the team members and competition.

(2)Enable students to solute their learning difficulties.

III. Teaching focus and difficulties:  

1.Let the students master how to describe what people are doing. Master the phrases: talking on the phone. watching TV, doing homework, eating dinner. cleaning, reading.

2. Grasp and make use of simple communication patterns in English:

--What are you doing? --I am watching TV.

-- What is he doing?-- He is doing homework.

--Is she reading? --No, she isn’t.   
IV. Teaching design
The main lesson I have taken on the following number of teaching:
1. Listen to the tape

Listening is an important means of learning English, but also an important step in classroom teaching.

2. Explain the focus on individual drills.

In studying, the students will always meet some difficult words, sentences, phrases or a grammatical phenomenon.We should give students more practice.   

3. Advise students to start a dialogue scene.
In the first and second part of the teaching process, we should encourage the students to open their mouth. Let the students feel a sense of achievement. The third part is a game, the students guess, the teacher encourage and inspire more students to participate in studying.
4. Students operate independently.
First of all, following the teachers’ requirement, students should demonstrate independence action and then students are asked to stand up for several performances. This is the deepening of an important measure for classroom teaching.
5. I use the audio and video files in the beginning of the class to increase students’ interest.  

V. Learning Methods:
I have used the following methods to help the students to master the teaching material.
1. Cultivate the habit of listening.
Students often listen to the tape, teachers, which is good to learn English well.
2. Active practice, focusing on the oral.

 In the classroom, students should be active ,boldly and creatively,  

VI.Teaching design:

Before my class, I play the audio and video files to encourage students to warming up the new lesson.Give their an environment to learn English. In drilling part of the dialogue, besids the conventional practice, I use the part of the movies to practice. In the writing part , I use a zoo scene to let students report what are the animals doing. In the end of my class, I use a rhythm song to encourage the students to have fun, let them finish the lesson in the happy atmosphere.  

Due to the lack of experience in teaching,  I think there are some disadvantages in my lesson, I hope I can get more advice from you! Thank you!
